Guilty Until Proven Innocent: The Real Assumption of Some Bureaucratic Tribunals, Part Eight

I finally was found not guilty by the bureaucratic organization called the Ontario College of Teachers (after having had to prove my innocence). The oppressive process was at an end. However, since I was informed by one of the vocational counsellors that it would be difficult even to get on the substitute teachers’ list, and I was receiving disability benefits, I decided to not engage any further in trying to teach in schools.

Many on the left, of course, do not even address concretely the oppression of the bureaucracy of “public services.” Indeed, I recently (September 25, 2023) attended a rally at Queen’s Park in Toronto, Ontario, Canada to resist the privatization of health care in Ontario. Although I certainly believe that the public health services that we have is preferable to privatized health services, there was evident no criticism at all of the limitations of public health care. Just as social reformers or social democrats idealize collective bargaining, they also idealize “public services.” The left have such a lack of capacity in critical thinking that it will be necessary to become even more critical of their idealizing tendencies in order to expose their limitations.
